How To Set DuckDuckGo as Default Search Engine in Chrome?

The good news is that although you need to add DuckDuckGo to Chrome manually it can be done in just a few clicks:

1. Open the DuckDuckGo website in a new tab or window.
2. Click the 'Use in Chrome' button.
3. Click the 'Add to Chrome' button.
4. In Chrome, go to 'Settings > Search Engines > Manage'
5. Find DuckDuckGo.

Here is how to set DuckDuckGo as default search engine in Chrome.

Method 1:

1.     Open your Chrome browser.
2.     Enter the URL -> https://duckduckgo.com/ in address bar.
3.     Hit enter and Bookmark the website.
4.     Now, go to Settings by clicking at the top right.
5.     Under 'Search engine,' click Manage search engines.
6.     Find 'Other search engines.'
7.     To the right of DuckDuckGo search engine, click More.
8.     Select Make default.
9.     That’s it.

Method 2:

1.     Open your Chrome browser.
2.     Go to Settings by clicking at the top right corner.
3.     Scroll down to the Search engine.
4.     Click on Manage search engines.
5.     Click on ADD under Other search engines.
6.     Enter the following:

8.     Keyword: http://duckduckgo.com
9.     URL with %s in place of query: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%s&atb
10.     Click Save.
